"My mother never got her financial freedom. I'm building a world where others don't have to sacrifice rest, health, or peace of mind just to survive."
Built from legacy, loss, and love.
Both my mother and grandmother were single parents who worked jobs that paid just enough to survive. They moved through life like women who never had permission to rest—because they didn't. In 2020, I lost my mother to COVID-19. She was only 56 years old. She never got to experience the financial freedom she worked so hard to build.
I spent over 20 years in banking, finance, and accounting—building expertise, climbing ladders. But I found myself working for organizations that demanded everything and offered very little rest in return. I realized I was repeating the same cycle I'd watched my mother and grandmother endure.
That's why I founded Financial Step Up LLC and created MoCo—a financial coaching and literacy app designed to do what the industry hasn't: make financial education practical, relatable, and truly empowering.
